3D monsters and an abundance of CGI sequences were created through 2D and 3D blended motion graphics, to tell the tale of the foundation of Qatar from the uniting of 2 cultures, from the dessert and the sea.

Overview: For the 15th Asian Games held in Doha (Qatar) in 2006, DAE (David Atkins Enterprises) was employed to create the opening and closing ceremonies. The Spinifex Group was engaged as the sole media production company for the ceremonies.

These ceremonies were the most technically challenging  ever held up to this date. Spinifex created 40 minutes of HD content to play across a variety of screens and projection surfaces. The featured screen was a semi-circular 126 metre wide LED screen- the largest ever built.

The opener took the audience on an extravagant journey through the birth of the universe, to arrive at Doha.
